Performing the ending of Harvey Milk’s beautiful Hope Speech, and something from Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel.
Both men are heroes to me. I look up to them with deep admiration, and feel grateful to live in a world where such brilliant men lived, fought, and believed in more than the restrictive existence that often we are expected to conform to. We triumphantly defy it.
From the Dr, “I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.”
I can hear him laughing in my head; the kind of laugh thats genuine; a kind heart. Thankful for the lessons. Forever to look at life through the wrong end of the telescope, and butter my bread gleefully on the edge, and it’s all thanks to you.
Thanks for lookin’. Keep the spark.
